Wow its been forever since I have done a post. And now I have two! Woot!
So, my name is Kara, and I hate buying wedding presents! I hate setting yourself up with a budget your finances would gladly accept. I hate thinking I am putting a "price tag" on my relationship with someone. I hate going to the store and getting the registry. The registry itself is fine, I'm glad to choose something the couple chose themselves, they surely won't hate my gift! And then I won't be one of THOSE people that give you 1 0f 6 toasters/blenders/waffle makers. So then you have the registry, time to set a plan of attack! What shall I get that falls within that pre set budget? So than you choose a few items to go take a look at... all of which look pathetically sad. Just because the picture frame is all sorts of fancy, and its one of those things that someone else should buy you. Fancy or not, it still looks all sorts of sad. So now its back to square one, what if I combine a few of the smaller items? I can do a theme, wrap it up all nice, that won't be so bad! Then, purchase in hand, you head up to the register. Yup, you just doubled your budget, lady! Alas, its not worth the fight, so you just give the cashier your card. Shopping complete!
Am I the only member of the "I hate wedding present shopping" support group?

I hate buying presents for weddings. Like you said, I hate putting a price tag on my friendship with someone! I bet if I planned my time out a little better I'd feel better about it. Alas, I doubt that will happen!
I haven't bought a wedding present in a while but I totally relate to everything you said for present buying in general! It would be so fun if there was no budget!
That's why I just give money! Used to be BB&B gift cards. Now it's down to plain old crass money. But gifts are nice, if you can handle all that stress.
